Who runs Tulsa Senior Advisor?
Tulsa Senior Advisor is an independent, privately owned senior care referral service for Tulsa-area families; we are not part of any state agency, Area Agency on Aging, hospital system or care company, and we do not own or manage any facility.
Think of the site and the advisor as two tools. The site is a reference you can use on your own at 11 p.m.: Oklahoma's licensing chapters, the payment programs, and every licensed building in six counties, each with a citation you can follow. The advisor, Susan or a colleague, is the human part: a phone call or a few messages about your parent's needs, budget and preferred part of town, followed by a short list of licensed places worth a visit.
How does Tulsa Senior Advisor get paid?
When a family we introduced chooses a participating community and moves in, that community pays us a placement fee; the family is never billed, at the start or later.
We think you deserve to know how that shapes a conversation. A paid referral service has an obvious incentive to steer families toward communities that pay fees. Our check on that incentive is the directory itself: it shows every open OSDH license in the six counties, fee or no fee, and we will discuss any building on it. Ask us why we suggest a place, and expect an answer you can verify in the state's public file.
What goes into the Tulsa Senior Advisor directory?
Only official records: OSDH's roster of open assisted living centers, residential care homes, adult day care centers and nursing homes in the six counties, the index of each facility's public file, and CMS Care Compare figures for certified nursing homes.
Reviews, testimonials, marketing claims and scores we might invent are left out on purpose. Some numbers families want, like a Tulsa-only monthly price or a memory care median, simply do not exist in any published source, and our pages say so.
How do I reach Tulsa Senior Advisor?
Call (918) 679-3285, email advisors@tulsasenioradvisor.com, or use the short questionnaire on any page; operators who see their state data shown incorrectly can use the same email address.
We are not an emergency line. In danger, call 911. Suspected abuse, neglect or financial exploitation of an older Oklahoman goes to the Oklahoma Human Services hotline, 1-800-522-3511, which answers around the clock.
What area does Tulsa Senior Advisor cover?
Six counties: Tulsa, Wagoner, Rogers, Creek, Osage and Okmulgee counties, from Pawhuska and Skiatook in the north to Henryetta in the south and from Bristow in the west to Coweta and Wagoner in the east.
Three Area Agencies on Aging divide that territory, INCOG, Grand Gateway and EODD, but one set of state rules and statewide programs applies throughout, which is why one site can cover it honestly.
